Louisa ValentineLouise Wilson, once a Mrs Valentine, also writes romantic fiction as Louisa Valentine. While learning some of the novelist's craft, she belonged to Romance Writers of Australia and the Melbourne Romance Writers Guild, both excellent training grounds for writers and fun learning places. She writes the kind of stories that she likes to read herself, stories about rather reserved people exploring relationships which evolve slowly into believable 'happy-ever-after' endings. Although underlying sexual tension does build, as with Mr Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet in 'Pride and Prejudice', the bedroom door in Louisa's stories mostly stays discreetly closed. The emphasis is on aspects of family life. Families matter! As she has lived and worked in many places around the world, Louisa enjoys conveying a genuine 'feel' of these places in the settings she chooses for her novels. Babyboomers like herself and Gen Xers like her daughter are bound to identify with these settings and her themes. Career women. Parenting. Divorced couples. Fidelity. Infertility. Independence. All her stories are getting great reviews. |
